On the 21st May 2024, Photoconsortium participated to Europeana annual Digital Storytelling Festival, where experts from all around Europe, cultural heritage professionals, educators, creatives, and students from Europe and beyond to boost their storytelling skills and tell stories exploring culture, inspiring participants to create connections between art, culture and history and the contemporary world. The festival had more than 1200 registration, and a huge amount of speakers covering the most different topics.
Photoconsortium gave its contribution to the festival by providing a workshop on how the Gallery Building Tool provided on Europeana can be useful both to help the learning activity in schools and universities and to shed light on cultural heritage that otherwise would have been left unseen.
The workshop, led by Valentina Bachi, Antonella Fresa and Susanna Capannini, was organized in three parts:
- Photoconsortium’s work to promote Europeana and the reuse of digital cultural heritage collections
- Europeana galleries to support storytelling in education and cultural tourism
- Europeana editorials and hands-on demo for using the Europeana Gallery Builder tool
In the workshop took part more than 40 people, and time for Q&A was left to interact with the audience. The majority of the audience feedback was positive, with various users confirming the tool is an interesting resource for their educational projects.
