ph. ViMM project.
Virtual Multimodal Museum (ViMM project) is a high-visibility and participative Coordination and Support Action (CSA), funded under the EU Horizon 2020 programme, that brings together Europe and the world’s leading public and private sector organisations working on Virtual Museums and in the wide sector of Digital Cultural Heritage, to support high quality policy development, decision making and the use of technical advances. The project is coordinated by prof. Marinos Ioannides from the Digital Heritage Research Lab at Cyprus University of Technology, one of the members of Photoconsortium.
The ViMM consensus building event in Berlin on 12 and 13 April involved over 100 experts in various discussions about Digital Cultural Heritage, with the aim of reshaping and helping prioritise 40 Propositions for the ViMM Manifesto and Roadmap on the future of Digital Cultural Heritage in Europe.
Photoconsortium was represented by vicepresident Antonella Fresa, and the newly appointed director of Europeana, Harry Verwayen, and colleague Victor-Jan Vos were also present. The occasion was also perfect for disseminating the latest progress of the Europeana DSI and Migration projects to the convenors.
The results of the meeting and concertations will be soon posted on the ViMM Platform for further consultation.
