More than a photography museum, the Musée de l’Elysée is a launch pad for artists. They are fully committed to helping artists produce new work through dedicated exhibitions and special projects. And this summer, they are thinking outside the box, the frame and the white cube!
Have you ever listened to a photograph, felt its structure with the tip of your finger or walked into it? For the third edition of its reGeneration exhibition and book project, the Musée de l’Elysée selected 50 emerging artists from art schools all around the world. Their projects give an account of new perspectives for photography. Three majors themes emerge from the selection: new approaches to documentary photography, memory and the abundance of aesthetic expressions. At the crossroads between photography and contemporary art, the exhibition guarantees the visitor a strong and immersive experience. In addition, the museum have created an online archive of video interviews of all 50 artists and an augmented reality app that goes along with the reGeneration 3 book publication (French and English versions).
“reGeneration 3 – Which approaches to photography?” is presented at the Musée de l’Elysée until 24 August 2015 and is then free to travel. Take a glimpse at the museum’s installation in Lausanne to imagine what yours could be!
