ICERI is one of the largest international education conferences for lecturers, researchers, technologists and professionals from the educational sector. After 10 years, it has become a reference event where more than 700 experts from 80 countries will get together to present their projects and share their knowledge on teaching and learning methodologies and educational innovations. The 2017 edition of ICERI took place in Seville on 16-18 Novmber.
In this important event, Fred Truyen (KU Leuven), president of Photoconsortium and Sofie Taes, curator of the Europeana Photography and Migration thematic collections, had the chance to showcase the potential of digital cultural heritage in education.
Sofie delivered an intro presentation about Europeana and the Thematic Collections on photography and migration. The day after, Fred proposed a hands-on approach of educational re-use of photographs available in such channels.
