From next of kin to the one that we get to choose, family is one word with a million meanings… Explore how the family concepts and discourses have changed across the 20th century in the virtual exhibition Family Matters. Looking back at the 20th century as a Century of Change, this new exhibition just published on Europeana explores different family concepts and discourses, zooming in on important events that shaped our homes and lives.

Comprising a wealth of nice heritage photographs, documents, artworks, prints, videoclips, all published in Europeana as open access cultural heritage resources freely reusable, this exhibition was created in the framework of the CEF-project Europeana XX – Century of Change which focuses on the 20th century and its social, political and economic changes.
